  17.         HARLEQUIN-FONTS may be freely distributed (or sold!)
  18.         anD can be freely used in commercial software etc.
  19.         the only thing we ask is that you keep any notices
  20.         (like this one) 'with' the fonts.

  23.         USING THE FONTS 'PICTURES' IN LO-RES
  24.         ------------------------------------
  25.

  27.         Harlequin fonts are 'Hi-Res' to give better quality
  28.         for use in Hi-Res Med or Lo-Res and Interlace modes.
  29.  
  30.         Load the font picture into DPaint before starting
  31.         your artwork. Now change the screen format to Lo-Res
  32.         (or Med/ Interlace etc) but keeping the screen size
  33.         the same: You will now have an over sized LoRes
  34.         screen and you can move around it using the curser
  35.         keys (plus Alt). 
  36.  
  37.         THIS IS NOW YOUR SPARE SCREEN! Using the 'j~ key and
  38.         design your picture on the other screen keeping
  39.         to a quarter of the screen (ie- the size you can see)
  40.         When you've finished your screen- change the screen
  41.         format to lores making the screen image the 'screen
  42.         size'. (Make sure you do this while you are on 'your'
  43.         picture and not on the font picture you are using or
  44.         you will loose it!

  47.         In LoRes the fonts are very large and easily reduced
  48.         when you pick them up (use the DPaint short cut 'h'
  49.         key to 'halve' the size or the - and + keys for fine
  50.         size alterations etc..)

  53.         COLOUR BRUSHES
  54.         --------------

  56.         Each Harlequin Font can be used with a number of
  57.         different colour effects and not just the colour/
  58.         effect it is supplied with!.
  59.  
  60.         Colour brushes are included to quickly change the
  61.         palettes (for 'any' version of DPaint). They are
  62.         empty brushes which you load in
  63.  
  64.         and then using the COLOR menu
  65.  
  66.         choose PALETTE and then choose the
  67.  
  68.         'USE BRUSH PALETTE~ option.

  72.         TEXTURE BRUSHES

  75.         Some of the texture effects used on Harlequin-Fonts are
  76.         also included- To use them you should load them as
  77.         a Brush and can use the colour of the brush (as above).
  78.         To give a font (or any object) a new texture effect
  79.         you should create a stencil with just the background
  80.         colour set on! Now, as you move the brush around you
  81.         will only see it when over an object- if you press
  82.         the brush down at that point you will give the object
  83.         that 'texture'
